IKEA Kitchen Remodel
These are modular cabinets that were ordered from IKEA. I roughed in the new wiring and plumbing and the customer was going to set the base cabinets themself. They were unable to get the cabinets installed correctly and I was forced to remove and reinstall them. I will say that I really like the IKEA system as it is very similar to the way commercial cabinetry is assembled and can be installed faster especially in places where there is a lot of variation in floor elevation.
The sink cabinet detail was made to match the legs of the island.
I like how this kitchen turned out as a whole, I do not recommend having a microwave at this height. I find it cumbersome and inconvenient.
The back splash tiles were on 12” mesh sheets and required a lot of cuts because of their shape but the finished product has a very clean look.
I installed everything in this kitchen besides the counter tops. One thing to remember is that granite top need to be installed on level cabinets to prevent them from cracking in the future. That means that the cabinets need to be secured so that they don’t sag over time.
